Community Partnerships

Korman is committed to developing and operating first-class properties that deliver healthy and sustainable living while continuously seeking opportunities to minimize environmental impact through efficiency, water conversation and landfill avoidance. Korman has partnered with both national and local organizations such as Move for Hunger, Boys and Girls Club for America, Career Wardrobe, Dress for Success, Marine Toys for Tots Foundation, Susan G. Komen® Philadelphia, Clean the World, Steven Korman Nutrition Center at MANNA, Project Home, and Jefferson Health System to foster positive change.

Furnishings Recycling Program with Habitat for Humanity

AVE formalized a partnership with Habitat for Humanity in 2021 to divert retired furnishings from furnished apartments and amenity spaces, as well as residents when they move out from landfills to Habitat for Humanity ReStores, where sales directly finance H4H’s housing projects. Since launch, this program has diverted approximately 2,000 pieces of furniture from landfills.

Clean The World

Korman has partnered with Clean the World to encourage sustainability in our suites and prevent hygiene-related illnesses. By recycling soap and distributing to those in need, Clean the World saves lives and creates a sustainable future. Soap left behind by our residents is sanitized and redistributed to 127 different countries.

Sustainability

Korman is developing innovative business models in partnership with brands like ChargePoint, Honeywell, and Lutron to ensure energy efficiency in future developments, as well as actively executing energy-efficiency improvements across our existing portfolio.

Between 2020 and 2022, Korman's Brand AVE installed EV charging stations at all communities nationwide.

MANNA

MANNA provides meals to individuals and their families suffering from life threating illnesses. MANNA prides itself as the leader in evidence-based nutrition services in the Philadelphia area.

Every year, AKA, AVE and Korman Communities employees donate a day of service to honor Steven Korman at Manna. SHK Day of Caring gives Korman employees the opportunity to make an impact for a cause so personal to leadership in the company.

Resident Lifestyle

For decades, our teams have designed a monthly calendar of resident events at every property with the goal to cultivate community. We are a people-first organization and our team members feel a great sense of satisfaction using their creativity to bring our residents together.
